FtpClient ability to specify which AddressFamily type to use to connect

Jun 4, 2013 at 6:03 PM
Hello Author,

I've ran into issue with FtpClient and Wing FTP server (which does not support IPv6 address family). I've noticed that in your FtpSocketStream.Connect implementation you get IPAddress array and loop through these addresses trying to connect. After first successfull connection your code breaks and socket is connected.
There is absolutelly nothing wrong with this implementation, except it would be nice to be able to control with which IPAddress from AddressFamily to connect or maybe additional overload for FtpClient.Connect which accepts IPEndPoint or IPAddress type parameter?

This has been addressed in the latest revision. There is a new property to FtpClient called InternetProtocolVersions that lets you specify IPv4 and IPv6 as flags. Both flags are set by default.

Thanks allot.
When are you planning to do another release of FtpClient with all these features included?
